Elvis Brownie has to study geography…

Seen in an official communique of Elvis Brownie, Managing partner at John Fund Equity Partners :

Feel free to fly to Africa Elvis Brownie but Mabhuti is on an Indonesian island !
Elvis want us to think that he is wise and responsible, but he is not! That’s a shame from a man like him. It totally discredits his speech. For us, that’s a BIG FAIL!

Child labour in Berden Laboratories: An executive manager “can’t keep the silence anymore”

NoLabourForChild recently published a video about outrageous activities led by Laboratoires Berden :

“NoLabourForChild has just received some documents coming from an internal source of Berden Laboratories. Actually an executive manager working in the new plants in Mabhuti send to the NGO NoLabourForChild a short video to testify against the inhuman children treatments and Berden’s lies.”

John Fund Equity Partners and Beneto&Beneto : the real decision-makers

Last week, Anticap denounced a case of child labor in Berden Laboratories’ factory in Mabhuti. A new report from the NGO TRW reveals interesting yet alarming facts…

It appears that John Fund Equity Partners (JFEP) and Beneto&Beneto were the initiators!

Apparently, JFEP CEO ordered a report on the factory in Roukarta (Mabhuti) to Beneto&Beneto. At this time, Berden Laboratories were facing serious financial problems and wanted to relocate a part of their activity.

The report (signed by Beneto&Beneto CEO Carlo Jibuit himself!) stated that the Mabhuti factory was an interesting target because Mabhuti offers reliable workers and allows child labor in exchange for a small wage. It argued that teenagers typically worked to help their family.

Berden Laboratories claimed that these teenagers were well treated and were “only” working 20 hours a week. They also created a foundation to pay for their studies.

But isn’t the aim of a foundation to give something without asking something else in return? Why not just hire the parents of these poor teenagers and still pay for their studies?

Yet, it seems that the true power is in the hands of JFEP and Beneto&Beneto. Eric Dumonpierre is not the charismatic leader he used to be. He does not seem to be making the decisions anymore.

Capitalism has struck again and it is dirty! Anticap joins forces with John Milton from TRW to fight against these malpractices. Let’s rally against John Fund Equity Partners and Beneto&Beneto !

Just say “No more” to capitalism!

Children Labour

According to a recent report from the TRW NGO, capitalism has struck again. This time, the action takes place in Mabhuti, an Indonesian island.

The authorities are allowing big western companies to “employ” (exploit!) children from 14 to 16 years old. They have to work 60 hours a week for almost nothing.

This nasty business implicates Laboratoires Berden, among others.
John Fund Equity Partners, an investment fund specialized in European pharmaceutocals, invested in Laboratoires Berden.

This affair seems to be the beginning of something worse…

Anticap’s auction sale

Anticap's Auction sale, March 15th 2010

Today was held our first auction sale in Los Angeles, California,  and we are proud to annouce that it went very well. Our auction featured fine furniture, contemporary and modern furnishings, antiques, fine art, jewelry and decorations from Rolling Hills and Hancock Park estates. The sales started at 9:00 AM with box lots, medium grade furniture, prints and modern and contemporary furnishings and continued throughout the day with fine furniture, antiques, decorations, porcelains, glass, carpets, silver, jewelry and fine art.

A small fraction of the sales were directly allocated to Anticap’s plan to support the recent Europe-wide anti-capitalist campaign. We really hope that this will make a difference, and we would like to thank everyone who was involved in our first auction sale and made it possible.
